100 YEARS OLD

To celebrate the centennial of the French national antiquarian book association (or 'SLAM'), Studio LWA has captured the history of the association in a lively film featuring snapshots of ORTF (the French national radio and television agency founded in 1964) news broadcasts, conventions, portraits of illustrious members, prints, finely bound books, manuscripts, signed photographs, logo designs, posters, celebrities and members of the public gathering under the dome of the Grand Palais, etc. Both vibrant and entertaining, the film reminds us that the mission of the organisation is to promote and preserve our written heritage. Standing with their arms crossed in deep concentration, proud representatives of the association seem to consider with an appreciative eye the development of the an institution celebrated for its ongoing momentum and modern-day stance throughout the past hundred years. With this cheerful and unique film, it is undeniable that antiquarian books are still very much alive !
