ROMAN DIVERS

With its battered cardboard hardback cover reminiscent of an old book and its brightly-coloured modern pages inside, this concept book brings together in one object different historical eras, in the manner of a palimpsest used by a number of authors over a long period of time. With this recycled-looking textbook, Romans Divers has materialized the concept of a 'transtextual' experience, a concept embracing any form of relationship established between two texts, whether explicit or implicit – as described by literature theorist and inventor of the concept Gérard Genette.
