CHAMBRE SYNDICALE DE L'ESTAMPE, DU DESSIN ET DU TABLEAU |

NEW

A wide variety of exhibitors from all over the workd have been gathering in Paris every year since 1985 to take part in its International Fine Print Fair. Its visual identity reflects the scale of the event.  The letters 'E' and 'D', standing for Estampe and Dessin, merge into an elegant pattern offering shelter to a tiny star, itself a symbol of the brilliance and the attraction associated with the fair.  The logo emblazoned on a number of communication materials almost seems to shine over the gigantic gallery hosting this temporary yet recurrent exhibition. A film of the 2011 edition held in the nave of the Grand Palais recorded this significant cultural event. It features interviews of art dealers from around the world, all eager to share their passion for those ancient, modern and contemporary works of art. In the film, the camera lingers at times on an incredible array of documents such as prints, original vintage posters, engravings, etc, thus reflecting the great diversity of exhibits on show. The sequences of the film suggest the lively atmosphere of the event, attended by both specialists and members of the public. The programme of the Salon abounds with activities, public readings, live engraving sessions, concerts, a specific display devoted to the notion of politically correct, and many more. With this short film we are propelled into this gigantic gallery hosted every year for a few days under the sumptuous glass roof of the Grand Palais.
