La Réunion des Musées Nationaux consacre pour la première fois une exposition à Bill Viola. Ses tableaux en mouvement et ses installations monumentales sont présentés dans les Galeries nationales du Grand Palais. Différents supports de communication ont été développés pour promouvoir cet événement d’envergure : cartons d’invitation papier et numérique, newsletter… Leur composition met en valeur une sublime et mystérieuse image extraite du film Tristan’s Ascension. Dans cette vidéo, une averse diluvienne enlève doucement le corps sans vie du héros wagnérien. Élément à la fois menaçant et créateur, l’eau occupe une place primordiale dans l’œuvre de Viola. La ligne graphique rend hommage à un artiste, qui lie l’image et le son pour mieux capturer le réel et sculpter le temps.
La Réunion des Musées Nationaux is for the first time holding an exhibition on video artist Bill Viola. His moving pictures and monumental installations are displayed in the National Galleries of the Grand Palais. Communication material such as paper and digital invitation cards, as well as a newsletter, have been designed to promote this significant cultural event. Their graphic composition revolves around a stunning and mysterious screenshot of the film Tristan’s Ascension. In the video, the lifeless body of the Wagnerian hero is slowly removed from the scene by floods of water pouring down on him. Both menacing and inspirational, water is a key element in Viola's work. The graphic design is a tribute to an artist who mixes images and sounds to give us his own interpretation of time and space.
