Ces deux bombardements ne sont pas un banal exemple de la destruction d’une ville telle que l’Histoire de l’Humanité en connaît déjà une liste infinie. La journée d’étude se propose d’aborder l’anéantissement d’Hiroshima sous un angle qui n’est pas simplement factuel ou historique mais aussi sociologique et philosophique. Elle se propose enfin d’examiner ces deux jours terribles au regard d’autres catastrophes humaines qui furent perçues comme un anéantissement. Organisée en courtes interventions prononcées par des spécialistes de l’Université de Genève, de l’INALCO ou de l’ENS, une réflexion sur la catastrophe et ses conséquences, sous l’angle historique, sociologique et philosophique sera au cœur du débat, ou comment un tel évènement marque aujourd’hui encore les habitants de deux villes du Japon mais aussi l’humanité toute entière. On 6th August 1945, the apocalypse hit the town of Hiroshima, which had been hitherto untouched; three days later, Nagasaki suffered the same fate.These two bombardments are not used as a banal example of the decimation of a town, such as that with which the History of Mankind is already familiar from a non-exhaustive list.The day of research sets out to approach the devastation of Hiroshima from an angle that is not merely factual or historical, but also sociological and philosophical.It finally proposes to examine these two terrible days in light of other human disasters that have been viewed as destructive.Organised as short speeches delivered by specialists from the University of Geneva, INALCO or ENS, the heart of the debate will be based on a reflection on the catastrophe and its aftermath, from a historical, sociological and philosophical perspective, and how such an event still has an effect on the inhabitants of the two Japanese towns and also on the whole of humankind.Studio LWA has released the teaser trailer for the event.
