BYE BYE LEADER |

FIRST ALBUM

Bye Bye Leader is a band from nowhere and everywhere, both engaged and detached, born in 2010 out of the unlikely encounter between four musicians from very different backgrounds. Their music reflects their Paris and Brussels origins. With their powerful lyrics and lively beat, the band plays a both hypnotic and catchy music, mixing melancholic and upbeat atmospheres. Their first recording was completed in 2012 in the Belgian capital city. The graphic design of the sleeve and the CD is based on the idea that there is no leader, in a reference to Marcel Duchamp's 1917 Five-Way Portrait. Partly reproduced inside the sleeve, the front cover shows five men sat around a table – or rather, the same man reproduced five times –, in a reflection over the notion of group as an organic entity. Laid out over a black background, the geometrical golden typeface is reminiscent of the Bauhaus style, a movement in which experiment played a significant role. Bye bye Leader is not only a musical project, it is also a creative platform for research, bringing together sound engineers, photographers and experts in communication.
